Local Coffee Shops: Where Community and Caffeine Collide

Updated: Apr 30

At Emerald Strategic Marketing we love coffee, and we love supporting our local businesses! We've have compiled our favorite local coffee shops for you to enjoy around the Navarre /Pensacola area.

Two cups of iced coffee and a muffin

About: “It was always a dream of ours to open a coffee shop, a place where you could get great coffee and not have to wait, in a time when we are all always on the go. We started with a dream, a trailer and small cabana on the side of Navarre Parkway, and most importantly, great coffee. When we first opened, we decided to let our customers decide our menu - we put a sign up saying "Make up a drink and we'll put your name on it". Almost all of our drinks have been created by customers and employees throughout the years!”

Our Drink Recommendation: Salty Dog Latte (with flavors of dark chocolate, salted caramel, and English toffee)

About: “For over a decade, we’ve been solely passionate about simply making people’s day. We do this by providing you with quality coffee and food, and excellent customer service. We recognize the need in our community for a place to gather, meet, and celebrate all of life’s little moments, and we’ve consistently been that place for our customers. Our hope is that by serving you, we truly make you feel appreciated and cared for.”

Our Drink Recommendation: French Toast Iced Latte (with flavors of white mocha, cinnamon, and maple spice)

About: “Featuring all things books, blues, and brews, this cozy coffee shop feels like a home away from home. What makes Bulldog Brewing Co. unique is that it gives the opportunity to be exposed to deaf culture and ASL. Through workshops, events, and daily interactions, you get the opportunity to learn more about the people around you by simply sharing a cup of coffee together. ”

Our Drink Recommendation: Ernest Hemingway Latte

Side Note: Our CEO's 10 year old gives this place a 10/10 for "delicious hot chocolate, lots of cake pops, comfy seats, clean floors, supporting the community artists, and being dog friendly"

About: “We want our process of making coffee to be very relational. Coffee is already a great source for bringing people together and we want to invite people into the making process with us. We value feedback because it helps us shape our experience to be not only for our customers but also by our customers.”

Our Drink Recommendation: Iced Dirty Chai Latte

When it comes to the local and tourism communities, our local coffee shops are important for a number of reasons:

  • They support the local economy: Local coffee shops are typically owned and operated by small business owners. When you support a local coffee shop, you are helping to keep money in the community and create jobs. Local coffee shops also often source their products from other local businesses, such as bakeries and roasters. This helps to support the entire local economy.

  • They provide a space for community: Local coffee shops are more than just places to get a cup of coffee. They are also gathering places for people to connect, work, and relax. Coffee shops can be a place to meet up with friends, work on a project, or simply take a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

  • They offer a unique and authentic experience: Local coffee shops are often run by passionate people who care about coffee and their customers. They often offer unique and creative drinks and snacks that you won't find at larger chain coffee shops. Local coffee shops also have their own unique atmosphere and culture.

  • They support the arts and culture: Local coffee shops often host events such as open mic nights, art shows, and book readings. This helps to promote the local arts and culture scene and provides a platform for local artists and performers to showcase their talents.

Here are some ways that you can support these and your own local coffee shops this weekend:

  • Buy coffee and food from local coffee shops regularly

  • Tip your baristas generously

  • Leave positive reviews online

  • Tell your friends and family about your favorite local coffee shops
